It looks like Google has rolled out a major change to its search results on mobile devices this week.

Instead of the usual pagination set up, Google has introduced a simple “More results” button that expands the search page to include another ten results.

Could we be saying goodbye to a “page 1 Google search result”, with what appears to be the introduction of the never-ending search page?

Earlier in the week Google confirmed the rollout to all searchers on their Twitter account saying “we’ve launched a new “More results” button that makes it easier & faster to get more search results on mobile.”

Google said this makes it easier and faster for their searchers, adding “now additional listings load below the ones already being viewed, rather than the old “Next” button that would load an entirely new page.”

More Google changes

The other big change is that Google adverts now show under the new organic results, if Google decides to show ads at all after clicking on the “more results” button.

It will be interesting to see how that changes over time, but having played about with a few searches, we agree with Google – mobile search just got even easier.
