Background to the Project
Beverley Holidays offer a fabulous range of holiday homes for sale in Paignton. A family run company for more than 60 years, the South Devon holiday park offers a selection of holiday caravans and lodges on the English Riviera.
Having completed the main website and mobile app design for Beverley Holidays & Touring, we were delighted to develop the new holiday homes website.
We’re extremely proud to work with Beverley Holidays and launch a website to deliver quality leads for the sales team to follow up and convert.
Our challenge was to help Beverley Holidays build upon their holiday home sales and sell the experience of holiday home ownership. The website needed to highlight the various holiday homes for sale, upgrades, after sales care, pitch fees, facilities as well as activities both on the park and in the local area.
We were in a unique position to integrate with the existing Beverley Holidays app, as well as Mailchimp and BookWhen (for homeowner events and activities).
Above all, the website needed to communicate the emotion of owning a holiday home and highlight the ‘Beverley Family Factor’.
We have built upon our experience in holiday park website design where the focus is primarily on the customer journey and generating bookings. With a holiday home sales website project, the main objective is about creating a funnel for lead generation.
Once we had received a detailed brief of requirements we spent a day working closely with the Beverley Holiday’s marketing team to go through their requirements in detail. From this we were able to draw up a functional specification which allowed our creatives to start bringing some designs to life.
We developed a look and feel that is similar to the Beverley Holidays main website which is predominately blue. The holiday home sales website has a contrasting green colour scheme, but keeps a consistent brand identity.
The website needed to promote experiences with a focus on lifestyle. With this in mind, the imagery used throughout the site places emphasis on people enjoying their free time.
Strong call to actions were a priority in the design throughout the website, providing several ways and making it easy to contact. The key functionalities of the website included:
The homepage features a main slider option for video or static images, with optional click through, an intro text for SEO and a bespoke search widget. We used blocks for featured homes for sale, as well as holiday caravans and holiday lodges block with links to separate landing pages. We also built a home owners block which shows the benefits of home ownership.
The bespoke search widget includes accommodation type, number of bedrooms, condition and price and makes it easy to find exactly what customers are looking for.
Core website pages
The main navigation includes the following core sections of the site:
- Search listing page – holiday home search results feature an image carousel and main specification details. As well as the ability to add labels, options to refine the search and sort/ordering capability.
- Individual accommodation listing page – the long description page includes an image gallery, save to favourites functionality, and ‘You May Also Like’ listings. There’s also strong call-to-actions with the ability to click to call, arrange a visit or use the enquiry form.
- Buyer’s guide – making the buying process as clear and easy to understand as possible, with sub-pages for finance options, sub-letting/part-exchange schemes and owner’s freedom card.
- Beverley experience – like one big happy family, owning a holiday home at Beverley is a lifestyle choice that comes with the added benefits of being part of a long-standing and successful family business.
