Background to the Project
Park Cliffe is an award-winning Lake District holiday park offering touring, camping, glamping, holiday caravan and cottage hire as well as holiday homes for sale. The park’s unique selling point is its stunning location; the site us is nestled in a clearing which is an elevated position overlooking Lake Windermere.
Having worked closely with Park Cliffe on their digital marketing since early 2019 we were delighted to continue our partnership with the website redevelopment to unlock their full online potential.
The main objectives of the project was to create a fully responsive, informative, engaging and easy to navigate website. This needed to showcase the park, surrounding area, first-class customer experience and to highlight the family fun when staying at Park Cliffe. Our challenge was to create a visually striking design showcasing all that the park offers throughout the year.
Visitors to the Park Cliffe website needed to be presented with details of accommodation and availability, in-depth knowledge about the local area and things to do, news and events.
The redevelopment would increase the visibility of the holiday park online to encourage both new holiday bookings and caravan sales. With an improved customer experience, the website would be able achieve better conversion rates of website users to make direct bookings.
As well as delivering a visually appealing website that showcases the park and stunning local area, we built a platform that enables website page content to be easily updated with a user-friendly administration tool.
A key piece of technical functionality which we implemented was an integrated RMS booking widget. When on a desktop computer, this provides customers with an enhanced search tool to enter their holiday information before being taken through to confirm and pay for their booking.
We also overhauled the FAQ section with the use of our custom built model with multiple categories.
The launch of the new website was delivered within the project timeline with Go Live in place just before the end of lockdown. This enabled Park Cliffe to be fully equipped with a new online platform to deal with the increase in staycation bookings in the coming months.
- Increased Traffic – Users increased by 53% in the first month following launch (year on year comparison)
- Increased Rankings – Now page 1 for ‘Lake District camping’ Google searches
- Increased Revenue – Online booking revenue up 13% (year on year comparison)
